Inspired by the image titled Gorgonian taken by my husband underwater photographer Glen Cowans
An incredible form of coral are the majestic gorgonian sea fans. These amazing constructions are made up of tiny creatures forming a colony. Some like this one were over three meters wide. They exist jutting out from the reef such that their massive surface area is at right angles to the ocean currents enabling them to feed on plankton as it passes along the reef. Found across the top of Australia including Ningaloo, Rowley Shoals and out to Christmas and Cocos Islands.

I have carefully sealed the front and back of the image to ensure that it is water resistant. It will be OK if you get caught in the rain, but please avoid submerging it when swimming or bathing.
